I have been riding since the age of 7, with a lifelong passion for horses that has shaped both my personal and professional journey.
I spent many years in the show ring, developing a strong foundation in riding, before going on to train within a dressage yard environment. This experience deepened my understanding of not only the horse, but the rider’s role within that partnership.
Over time, I became increasingly aware that true progress doesn’t come from training the horse alone — it comes from the rider’s ability to move, balance, and communicate effectively.
My experience has given me a strong understanding of both horse and human mechanics, and how the two must work in harmony. When the rider is balanced, aligned, and in control of their own body, the horse is able to move more freely, respond more clearly, and perform at their best.
This connection between rider and horse is what led me to combine my equestrian background with Pilates — creating RideAlign.
As riders, we spend so much time focusing on our horses — their training, their way of going, their comfort — always trying to improve how they move and perform.
But what is often overlooked… is the rider.
Our bodies are shaped by everyday life and the physical demands of working around horses. Mucking out, lifting, carrying, standing unevenly — these repetitive movements create imbalances without us even realising it.
We become tighter on one side, weaker on the other, less stable through our core, and less aware of how we sit and move.
RideAlign shifts the focus back to the rider — helping you develop the strength, control, and body awareness needed to support your horse, rather than restrict them.
Because when the rider improves…
the horse feels the difference.
Then we get in the saddle.
What we ask of our horses is balance, straightness, suppleness, and precision — yet if we are not aligned ourselves, we make that job much harder for them.
Often, the focus is placed on the saddle, the bit, or the horse’s back. But the rider plays a significant role in how the horse moves, responds, and performs.
Even small imbalances in the rider can lead to:
